BIGLY NUMBERS!!
The way people learn is through experience
Observation shapes organic education out of our existence
I’ve tried to mould enlightened lessons out of stacked traumatic turbulance
But I perceive less tribal unity than pornographic arrogance
Our twisted Center turns us ‘gainst stranger, gainst friends
We’ll destroy a dark mind, hit rewind, and never truly end it
Stockpile hatred in the closet, and grease your gun with ignorance,
I know Life taught you to be hard and nasty when you’re facing anything ,
Our proffered non-invasive care for cynicisms therapy
( it’s a hard sell to get signed up for the equivalent lobotomy)
They’ll teach you to be quiet and to try to live reflectively
To consider all the good you’ve touched when life looks bloody ugly
But I know I cannot visualize my way out of statistics
“Who among us is without sin”’s sure a heavy load of bullshit
If one man’s theft mars a profit and one man’s displaces citizens
And pours them into hostile land, you think that it’s equivalent?
The way we treat each other’s shatteringly cruel and hideous
Even when we don’t intend it, we just want to keep our big checks
We just want to keep our cool friends, we just want to keep our dicks wet
We can’t help but feel entitled to Destroy what makes us “human”
Til we’re so utterly divested we can only end our own lives
Little’s crueler than a thousand lies all promising you sunshine
When everywhere you look lie hate and rage and filth like landmines
Whose remnants block the sky out, scrape shit all through your third eye
I don't know where to start to find a solution
there's billions of selfish people and there's twice as many stupid ones
And don't think I fail to count myself among them
I buy my homeless friends lunch but I knowingly ship with Amazon
I'd give up anything I thought would make a genuine difference
But there's so much I don't see, strings pulled by puppets with millions -
- of dollars, and a million tonnes of plastic in the water,
Every annum sees half a million people slaughtered,
and more hours of slave labor than I could count on all the fingers
of every rich fuck in the whole world who made over seven figures
Did you know, globally, a quarter of all kids have been mistreated
I’m talking tangible violence and thats the MINIMUM percentage
Those numbers knock around my headspace, how am I s’posed to live with it?
Leave thoughts to spiral in on prisons and mental health services
Till it’s all more than overwhelming, the damage unrelenting
I don’t want to be condescending but I can feel my brain melting
From the dissonance, of 7 billion cries, all ignorant
All dissatisfied and the sweet earth itself made malcontent
I hope we evolve before we burn, - but I can’t bring myself to count on it
