The whole world is unknowable
and that might be a pleasure
If my house house e’er been a home
But with no bonded center
I am a thousand rafts adrift
web tied In empty, aimless sky
Unanchored, I am separating
As I make waves with salt washed eyes
As I’m becoming undefined
How do I know which piece is “I”?
Breaking apart feels oddly peaceful
I’m concerned but left unable
To find the rope to keep together
My flesh is only so much leather
There’s a kind of freedom
As I jump from isle to isle
But I’m terrified of heights
And from here the fall is miles
Reality feels all inverted
The more I grow the less is certain
Do I wish I could be one ship?
Or all these liberated trips
Sailing out into the unknown
Across which I’m a stone that skips
It’s lucky that the sky’s a dome
Closed-circuit infinite.
