Drivetrain
Our first taste of freedom was intoxicating,
but it's two steps forward, two steps back
Time hung heavy on a string from the rearview
:infinite turns round a mobius-track
Every
prodigious swing
of the pendulum stacks,
by pound,
our sins
with a sickening smack.
The Threads pulling thinner
as it drops to your dash
but it never quite seems to
SNAP
And you’re
nervous that the navigator’s hazy and delusional:
denying to disclose if they’re your ego or your God
The pendulum is whipping wildly around the cabin and you
Don’t feel found but you
Don’t feel lost
Static in the radio’s sound
Corner tightly
And “Crack!”, slant path going all downhill till it dont
But the windshield shatters from the impact hands grip-choking a slick wrapped wheel
trying to let go, just like trying to control
the inevitable
Hoping something will show up thats better than
breath
than sunshine,
better than sex,
than language,
But you
better
forget About it.
Go on
Step forward and:
--
Two steps back.
